Course info
You will be involved in a series of practical classes in stage management, technical studies (lighting and sound), stagecraft, and event management. You will also begin your production work, usually taking a role on one of the College's own productions such as a play, opera or musical theatre. During the summer you will have the opportunity to work at our venue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe or to undertake a professional placement. Between October and April, you will undertake a further production option or work placement. You also have the option to undertake relevant paid employment as the basis for assessment at this stage. You will receive training in all aspects of stage management, lighting, sound design, production and event management. By the end of your course you will be equipped to find work in a variety of roles within this diverse industry. In the practical context of a busy theatre and recital venue, you will work on productions alongside actors, designers and directors in an environment which accurately reflects the practices and conditions of contemporary professional theatre. You can expect to work on the full range of College events from in-house plays to touring productions, opera, musical theatre, orchestral concerts and outdoor events.

How much will it cost?
Subject to approval by the Board of Directors, annual tuition fees for students from the UK and other EU countries on the Postgraduate Diploma in Stage Management will be £3,935. Course fees are subject to change and you are advised to check the current details with the course provider before enrolling on this course.
